The Engineering Division reviews site development projects to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and standards pertaining to stormwater management, drainage features, grading, access control, roadway design and construction and traffic control devices. The division also ensures administrative aspects and procedures of land development projects are followed, such as inspections, bonding and recording of rights of way and other required legal documentation. The Engineering Division assists in hazard mitigation and emergency operations and provides assistance to private communities and municipalities.

To provide Calvert County citizens with cost-effective, safe, quality and environmentally friendly facilities, infrastructure and services through the application of sound engineering principles, creative planning, quality design, efficient construction and proper maintenance in a team-oriented environment.
Effective August 16, 2021, the NOCC form is required when submitting site plans, road plans and grading permit application submittals with associated Stormwater Management.
