Cool Kids Camp
This weekly day camp is designed for children ages 6-11 years. Campers will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, arts and crafts, games and field trips. Trips for 2026 are tentatively scheduled as follows but are subject to change:
Week A - Cove Point Pool
Week B - Flagship Cinemas/Cove Point Pool
Week C - Lord Calvert Bowl/Cove Point Pool
Week D - Chuck E. Cheese/Cove Point Pool
Week E - Sky Zone Laurel/Cove Point Pool
Week F - Climb Zone/Cove /Point Pool
Week G - Skate Zone/Summer Party Day
This camp program is formatted in a weekly structure. Camps will be offered at Northeast Community Center, Plum Point Elementary School, Calvert Middle School and Southern Middle School according to the following schedule:
A $50/child/week non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your child's spot in a camp. Remaining balance and completed forms will be due 3 weeks prior to the start of the session. Camp balances will be automatically charged to the card you have on file with CCPR three weeks prior to the camp start date. You may also choose to pay your balance in full at the time of registration.
Campers will learn to interact with peers, law enforcement officers and volunteers in a criminal justice setting. Our program will engage children, both physically and mentally, through numerous activities and presentations given by the various teams within the Sheriff’s Office; K-9 Unit, Community Action Team, D.A.R.E and Special Operations Team. Our mission is to teach children the importance of discipline, self-respect, integrity, confidence and teamwork - all of which are essential to becoming a productive member of our community. This camp requires each camper to interact with other campers and CCSO officers all while engaging in new experiences. Cost is $20 per child.Camp fee includes a t-shirt, water bottle, swimming and snacks.
Camp will be offered 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cove Point Park for the following sessions:
Grades 6-7* June 22-26
Grade 8* July 6-10
*Children must be in noted grades by fall 2026.

Camp D.A.R.E
During our week long camp, current certified D.A.R.E. officers from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office will present the ten lesson Keepin’ it REAL elementary D.A.R.E. curriculum to incoming 5th graders (ages 9-10 years) who were unable to participate in the D.A.R.E. after school program during the school year. We will cover two D.A.R.E. lessons each day and fill the day with FUN in between the instruction! Youth will participate in activities such as basketball, dodgeball, kickball, relay races, minute to win it games and a variety of other games designed to keep them active and motivated.
Campers will be provided with Camp T- Shirt and bag. They also will be provided a snack every day. Each day campers must bring a bagged lunch and drink from home.
